been in banking off n on since 2006 never heard of a fee that high. 10 is the highest i have seen fir a non customer and they take it out of the check when you cash it

I worked in a bank in the 70’s. If the check was drawn on our institution we were obligated to cash it as long as the funds were available in the issuer/payor’s account, and no fee was charged to the payee to cash the check.
