نواعير :
The recent incident in the Senate involving Sen. Bato raises serious concerns about governance, sovereignty, and the proper application of the law in the Philippines. I am neither pro nor anti to any political side, but as a Filipino citizen who believes in the Constitution, I believe that every legal process should first and foremost respect Philippine laws and institutions.
We have competent lawyers, courts, judges, and legal procedures in our country. Because of this, many Filipinos are questioning why external authorities or foreign interventions appear to have influence over matters involving our own citizens. Regardless of political affiliation, the issue here is about protecting due process, respecting national sovereignty, and ensuring that the Constitution remains the highest authority within our land.
As Filipinos, we may have different opinions politically, but we should all agree that the rule of law must prevail fairly and properly. Our justice system may not be perfect, but it exists for a reason, and it should be given the opportunity to function according to the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
