From the little amount that we saw of pantoja vs van we saw pantoja do better in the clinch, avoiding some big hits by van while landing bigger hits of his own and we have no idea how he would react to Pantoja’s grappling since pantoja’s wrestling and taira’s are different styles. Saying “picking pantoja to win is cope” just isnt true💔 pantoja has great striking which you acknowledge which will make it easier to mix in grappling aswell, taira’s striking was good but wasnt a major threat to van so it lessened the threat. Assuming pantoja will fail his takedowns is also odd considering that taira was finding success at times against van, its not ridiculous to say he will be able to take van down

Man he got taken down 8 times by taira, also pantoja’s defense and head movement is way better than taira’s and cardio too. Plus he has 3 wins against royval who in his prime was similar to van and beat the brakes off taira too.

Pantoja never made as much damage as Van to his opponents. Look at Taira and Royval faces after what Van did to them. Pantoja looks really worried after Van vs Taira.DJ said Milk is not enough to win. I guess so too. 🙏
