dear god the way some people have absolutely no awareness of politics then act like they do. in 1994, johnson v grandy et al, the supreme court said proportionality in voting was NOT guaranteed by the VRA. FOR 32 YEARS dems knew racial gerrymandering was going to be struck down. THEY DID NOT CARE ENOUGH TO PUT IT INTO LAW. DEMS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THESE THINGS.

The first and only No Kings protest I went to (and left extremely disappointed) was a big festival with a live band, food trucks, and cops crawling around everywhere. Where are the protest organizers that don’t work with cops? I mean it, because some organizers literally call em up to shut down a street for a “protest” that nobody sees cuz THE STREET IS CLOSED. Or we protest outside a government office on a weekend when they’re closed? Am I wrong to think that’s pointless? 🙃

disabled trans human here who struggles to organize it myself I am also frustrated. Protests should be daily. there is a weekly rally in a different city that I try to get to but cannot afford the gas. I would go to every single protest in my area. I actively do. I share information online and lift others.. but where are the able bodied allies?

I still think about the no kings protest where the protesters were throwing s3x toys at the ICE detention center...where people were being s3xually assaulted and r4ped. Very tone deaf and out of touch. I wish people started using their white privilege to do things to support minorities but a lot of other white people do not like to get uncomfortable on behalf of others hence why they dress up in frog suits and play music at protests instead of doing anything substantial.

Everything has become performative. It’s all for clout and/or people to feel like they’re doing something when peaceful protests do NOTHING they accomplish SO LITTLE. Nobody cares if people are walking down a street. It’s gotten to the point where we NEED to begin getting organized and stop trying to make everything a competition on who’s the most morally correct while sitting on our asses and doomscrolling. We’ve gotten to the point where our country is run by PDFS and NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. It’s time for a civil war.
