Second, I’ve realized that you’re not the same friend I am to you. Look inward; the answer lies there. People don’t change overnight.

I’ll be honest here, most of the time it isn’t about you. They’re not forced to stay friends with you as you are not forced to do the same. Sometimes you outgrow friendships, especially in your twenties. Sometimes your friend just doesn’t align with who you are becoming anymore and that is okay. It hurts, it sucks, but that’s life. You’ll find other friends and make more memories with them and they will do the same. You can maintain a friendship even if you have different goals, routes, etc… but there’s nothing wrong with cutting ties because you’ve outgrown the relationship.

Been the one always reaching out, the one to listen, the one who gave.. I realized that some people don’t have to emotionally availability to reciprocate. And that’s when I stopped reaching out. We took different paths and that’s ok.
