@amber.levels.up: 2026 Debt Payoff “Progress” so far, but spoiler alert, there’s been significant negative progress. If you’re thinking of giving ya girl unsolicited advice, or a “have you thought of _____” if you could actually save those thoughts to yourself that’d be swell 😂 Yes I’ve thought of it. Yes I’m applying for better income opportunities and am putting more hours into my freelancing clients and side hustles which is the only way out of this. Yes I’ve negotiated my interest rates down. Yes I’ve locked access to spending more on my cards. Yes I’ve lowered my fixed expenses by $1400 per month over the last year. Yes I’m snowballing and paying least to most balances. Yes I’m using my degrees (BA and JD) even if it’s not in the traditional way you’re used to seeing people use those degrees. Yes I’ve considered bankruptcy but it will only cover less than $25k of the debt and really isn’t worth it. Yes I’ve considered doing school again half time to defer student loan interest but no that’s actually horrible advice to someone with my debt load, it makes far more sense to just earn more. Yes I will actually get these paid off (and will make significant progress this year, whether you think I’m cooked or not 🤪). The citi card is getting paid back off this month so follow along to see me knock it out and erase a lil bit of your skepticism 😂
this is real ✨ and people need to stop shaming others and questioning others and understand that THIS is more real than someone being debt free and having a lot of money in savings. and often the people that are debt free started HERE.

Having high debt is real and no one should be shamed by it. I was paying mine down and then got hit with paying for both my brothers funeral (32k) and my aunts funeral (15k) - both of which they didn’t prepare for and me being the only family left, it fell to me. It’s not always about spending more than your means. Life happens

I just cannot wrap my head around how predatory student loans are… like HOW do they expect you to ever catch up with that on your back?

my student loan maxed out at $8000 and it took me two years to pay it off. How are people gaining over $100k in student loans.

the student loan interest is insane. how can anyone keep up? there's no reason the governent cant provide interest free loans. my students loans in Canada went interest free several years ago and it was such a big help.

How can you get so much credit card debt? Like what are you buying knowing you shouldn’t be sending money in ANYTHING

Can I ask why bankruptcy isn’t being considered here? I know that won’t deal with the student loans but it can at least get the credit cards with the predatory interest rates off your shoulders
