@dr.matthew.parker: I struggle with anxiety, just the same as many of my patients. Intuitively, I know how to address it—I know my own ruminations and obsessions are feeding a loop that wants attention. I find that naming the thought and giving my body a healthy alternative in exercise is critically important. As a doctor, I know we are not immune from the same things we treat and it’s important sometimes to be honest about your own struggles. What are some of the things you struggle with? #MentalHealth #psychiatry #anxiety #depression #anxietyhelp
This will be particularly helpful when dealing with anticipatory grief which is where I'm at now and unable to shut off the loop. Thank you!

Same. Getting up and stretching, reducing stimuli around me, helps

Same but I am a nurse and my son actually almost died once. I have a really hard time not worrying for my children who are new adults about worse case scenario because I know what horrible things can happen. My 20 year old is getting married and talking about a honey moon and I started worrying about him drowning or something catastrophic on the honeymoon and it is still a year away. Ugh help!
