I kinda don’t like the idea of a microwave being able to melt glass

the concept of a microwave kiln is so weird to me.

uncle_stinky2 :
You need to reheat multiple times, with rapid cooling in between grinds. You are making a frit.

Stained glass artist here! This is theoretically correct, when fusing glass COE becomes less important the smaller the glass particles are. Problem is the microwave kiln, since you don’t have enough control of the temperature fluctuations to avoid internal pressures when cooling!

could the glass shards in the bucket be mixed with concrete to make recycled glass countertops?

Kevin :
what if you use a separate bucket and use it for only one type of glass, then melt it

they would make really pretty pendants though, coat with resin for strength/protection and I think it would work!

is there any way to put it in to a shape like a mold of some kind because it would make a pretty pendant or other jewelry

why don't you just get seperate buckets for each Coe that you use?

it's not heating to a high enough point to mix them

It seems like they’re breaking along sheer lines, you would need a way to make them a homogenous mixture or something to reinforce those lines
