Informed consent. I don’t think it’s a specialist’s role to tell me yes or no on a drug like estrogen. They are free to give me their opinion, I will take it under advisement and decide. And if I had an obgyn who would deny me an indicated use of estrogen, I would find another obgyn.

I have heterozygous Factor V Leiden. The hematologist didn’t have an issue with my transdermal estradiol. I had to educate the surgeons at the orthopedic office. That’s where I was advised to suspend MHT after total knee replacement. When I told them the hematologist & 3 menopause society certified MDs all said I should be able to continue, they rescinded their directive.
