That was me at 23. Five years of dental school. The degree. The title. The career my parents told everyone about at family gatherings. And I walked away from it. Not because I hated it. Because I could see exactly where it ended. Same clinic. Same hours. Same ceiling. For the next 35 years. Got into ecommerce. No mentor. No connections. No one in my family had ever built a business. Just me, a laptop, and the stubborn belief that I wasn’t wrong about what I saw. Ran operations behind a store that generated over £40 million. Learned what actually moves the needle. What converts. What scales. What breaks. Learned more in 6 years of ecom than 5 years of university ever taught me. Didn’t happen overnight. There were months where nothing worked. Months where my parents looked at me like I’d thrown my life away. Months where I questioned everything. But I kept going. Because the alternative — going back to a chair, a drill, and a salary cap — scared me more than failing ever could. And then slowly it happened. £10k months. Then £30k. Then more. Students messaging me saying they just made their first sale. A guy who tried trading, Amazon, and Airbnb — failed at all three — doing $3,400 in 8 weeks with me. A lawyer doing $2,000 days after 6 weeks. And right now I’m writing this knowing the distance between that dental chair and this life can’t be measured in money. It’s measured in freedom.
