The Union never saw the Confederates as their enemies. They saw them as “enstranged brothers”. Lincoln’s primary focus was on national unification not justice, which was a blunder, especially considering how weak the South was by the point of the reconstruction era.

Something I have been saying over and over again over the last week is remembering that we are no longer segregated. I need us to remember that which means that we can go and vote and also remember early voting early voting. Typically, as long as you go anywhere in your county, you can vote. I need us to go out and vote in represent. And showed them that their lines do not scare us
