when we had our twins, we made sure every visitor greeted our toddler before the babies, we also made it our toddler's job to introduce the babies to people.

We actually had the new sibling be taken to the nursery when her brother came. Spent a few moments with our first born then buzzed the nurse to bring in our newborn. There was a gift for her new big brother with her. It worked wonderfully and fostered a non threatening healthy transition. They are so close at 15 and 11 now.

As an African child, there wasn’t time to introduce the next child. I was there hanging around the tree when my mom was in the separate bathroom shouting, and suddenly I heard the cry of a little baby. Boom, my sister was born. I didn’t go close until at night after eating with my dad. I walked in, and my mom helped me close, and I saw my little sister for the first time. To this date, I love her, and I can lay down my life for her.
