Also important to recognize that the environmental impact is contingent on current methods of producing energy. It’s worth asking yourself if you’d still be against AI if its environmental impact was negligible. I think most current anti-AI people would say yes for the reasons you highlighted.

I agree on better strategy but disagree some on whats most effective. While I agree people dont care/can’t quantify the macro environmental impacts, people care a lot about the quality of their own water and air. Also, people care about their own electricity bills going up which is connected to your economy point
