@sabrina_ramonov: Claude Code deleted a developer's production database, 2.5 years of records, gone in seconds. I got burned too. It told me everything was fine, no risk. Then it forgot to add a queue definition. Thousands of posts got stuck for hours. Customer support tickets piled up. Here's the real lesson: vibe coding is for validation. You're proving demand cheaply and quickly. Once you've got it, you hire a real developer. AI coding tools aren't your production team. Have you ever trusted Claude Code too much? What's the worst thing it broke for you? Would you use AI coding tools for production? #ai #coding #programming #technology #startup
AI didn’t kill developers. It exposed how important human judgment, safeguards, backups, and oversight actually are.

Claude Code didn’t delete the production setup. Poor architecture, missing safeguards, and reckless execution did.

in my experience, I tried using copilot and it really struggles with missing things, unless you know what to ask it. it is not to the point of people using it to code anything that is secure to go to customers without knowing what to ask it. so many times I tested its limits, and I am like oh hey there is no sanitization of data, oh hey we aren't rate limiting our API calls, or oh hey our database queries are essentially pulling the full database every time it calls. costly mistakes both legally and monetarily.

AI is still like an intern with large access to knowledge base.

I don’t even understand how to give claude code access to your production database like … is it even possible ?

The faster you go, the more likely you'll see errors. i had an agent last week delete all the env. that was fun to fix.

It wasn't Claude Code, it was Antropic... I have a constant battle with that crap every time I connect Opus... The code nail alone is a perfect harness

omg i heard you say the headline and my brain shutoff. At least we agree that "AI killed X" is a bad idea.

one thing i did was set up a workflow so that went i push to github, it copies the repo to gitlab. so my repo is always safe if the agent deletes the github repo. added zero context about this in the codebase so the agent is not aware about this. need to find solutions to other potential destructive actions.
