My dad is disabled do to a workplace accident, and has been since before I was born, so growing up he was the main parent during the day. My mom did the cooking and cleaning when she got home, but anything to do with me during the day was up to my dad. I feel like that gave me a more equal upbringing and a different outlook on things.

My hubs stayed home for 3 years when our 5 children were all in elem school... and he went to school all the time & was in call for bad behaviors & the like. He brought the girls lunch a lot during that time... he was around so much (always brought the staff sweets) that one asked one of kids if her mom really existed. (Deep breath) It was really nice to have him home during that time... there was a lot going on & he was also in college at the time... He loved being Mr. Mom. But he was also ready to get back to work when he did.
