Hi! I have a dog who is reactive specifically when strangers come very close to her or interact with her directly. She’s not really reactive to people at a distance, and she’s okay passing people on walks most of the time. The issue happens when someone approaches us closely, talks to her, reaches toward her, or comes into our space — for example, waiters at cafés or strangers trying to greet her. In those situations, she starts growling, barking, and sometimes lunging because she seems scared and uncomfortable. I’ve already been working on general reactivity training, but most of the advice I find is for dogs reacting to triggers from far away. I’m struggling more with the “close proximity/social pressure” type of fear reactivity. What would you recommend for training this specifically?

Heeelp, I have 2 dachshunds, one is 2 years and a half and the other one is 9 months. When I go on a walk separately they both do it pretty good, no pulling on the leash, and being a bit reactive but not that bad. But when I walk them together they don’t listen to me, the puppy is always pulling on the leash and it’s so hard to walk. Do you have any recommendations ?
