@thebreastchapter: The in between is hard to explain unless you’ve lived it. Everyone expects you to feel relieved when chemo ends… and you are. But at the same time, it’s like your body and mind finally realize everything you’ve just survived. You’re no longer in constant “go mode,” no longer counting down to the next infusion…but you’re also not done. There are still appointments. Still scans. Still surgeries. Still decisions. Still fear. Your body is trying to recover from months of chemotherapy while your mind is trying to process everything that just happened. And somehow, life expects you to just keep moving forward through all of it. It’s a strange place to be… grateful, exhausted, hopeful, terrified, emotionally numb, and overwhelmed… all at the same time. People see “finished chemo” as the finish line. But for so many of us, it’s actually the beginning of a whole new chapter. This is the part people don’t always see. The waiting. The healing. The grieving. The rebuilding.
