the caption won’t post but as a lesbian, this topic is very important to me. from a very young age, i understood why certain female friendships felt more isolating than others. because i'm not attracted to men, conversations centered almost entirely around heterosexual relationships and male behavior often left me feeling disconnected from the space i was supposed to feel intimacy inside. but over time, i realized that for many heterosexual women, the feeling is different. it is not necessarily exclusion from the conversation itself, but exhaustion with how thoroughly male behavior comes to structure even female emotional spaces. that is what this analysis is trying to talk about.
