The straps look to be bar tacked on. Bar tacking is usually done on like belt loops at the top of pockets. It’s not a load bearing stitch and that’s why when you pull your pants up by your pant loops they pop. You need the box with an X on straps it’s evenly distributes weight. Most bags with straps have them. This isn’t a demand issue it’s a design issue.
