It was all about the casting..Like they brought so many incredible actors for minor or bigger roles to the main cast and they nailed it..From Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman who had much screen time,to Krysten Ritter and NPH and all the other killers they played out of their mind..Plus Michael C.Hall is just born to play this role and in that season he was more mature than ever..Great season of television top 3 of all Dexter for me

best thing Dexter did after that fall off T5 season of the show for me could be higher but Dexter has lost that type of dark style i don't know how to explain it still a solid 7,5/10 season (any season after 4 doesn't get past a 5/10 except ressurection) either way a great season of TV overatted by imdb

I feel a big problem with modern day tv, is that a lot of these shows aren’t meant for a weekly release, or rather, it is better on rewatch watching it all together.

I get what you’re saying, and I know this season is actually pretty solid—but it feels like the show completely lost its original vibe and drifted away from what made it special in the first place. From season 1 all the way through season 4, it felt like you were watching something truly unique—Dexter as a deeply complex character study. Every episode you could see him slowly starting to understand human emotions more and more, things he originally didn’t have. His development felt natural and intentional, like you were actually watching a broken mind trying to figure out how to be human. But after that, the later seasons—and even the newer stuff—feel like a totally different show. It’s like they shifted away from the original psychological depth and turned it into something else entirely, losing a lot of what made the early seasons so special.

It might be a hot take but the final episode of New Blood was actually very good unlike season 8, the problem is how they rushed to close the story in the last act of the episode
