He gets released from jail tomorrow after serving just a 30 day sentence. I don’t know what’s on the other side of his release for me. I don’t know how his abuse will continue to manifest. I don’t know how much rage has built up in him while he’s sat in jail for a month…immediately following the reading of my statement. My speaking of the truth. My proving that he will not silence me. There was a time I had a friend text me every day just to make sure I was still alive. While I am not feeling fearful to that extent in this very moment…. there’s still the reality that I can’t predict how he will choose to act. I have had to learn to live with the risk. I spent nearly a full year of sleepless, terrified days and nights “on lookout.” I refuse to return to that way of living. Imma be doing my damndest to create an absolute sensational life for myself.
