The first officer is watching the instruments and the captain (who is flying the plane) doesn't really have to look out the window unless there's traffic, so they're fine👍 And yes if there's traffic they're gonna get a warning because most aircraft (even old ones) are required to have a traffic collision avoidance system, so they don't have to watch all the time
