Seeing my parents completely in love and caring throughout my life, shaped me as a person. They are still happily married to this day and are best friends

We are orthodox Jew, and we also are affectionate in front of our kids. I’m a therapist, and I think this is extremely important to emotional well-being.

The best gift my mom gave me was a model for a happy marriage. They were unabashedly in love with each other. My dad would go out of his way to get my mom her favorite drink and snack, while picking up extra shifts so she could take days off for her mental health. My mom had a giant calendar with sticky notes to rearrange dinners so my dad could have his favorites when he wanted them but we stayed cost effective. They were a team, but also had no issues showing appropriate PDA. It’s the kind of love I wanted and I refused to settle. I finally found mine after years of searching. I’m 37. No regrets.

My parents were always showing their love for each other and that molded me. Knowing your parents love each other is so important in my opinion.

I think showing love and being in a disagreement and you can show in both situations is a positive experience for kids. I belive love is first. disagreement are a part of life. being the best person you can be at anytime is important. I love you and your channel. I have to say I am an atheist. However I have learned so much from you....I find you on my end a freind. I think what is someone's heart to be the most important thing . love is, compassion is , listening is , learning is....and thinking is... growing.

I remember the feeling I had inside when my parents showed affection for each other. So important for a child.

I think it’s so important to show your kids you love each other AND conflict resolution (in a healthy way of course)

I love how you share your life and your view is so cool to see! My parents showed pg affection in front of us but rarely fought but did argue occasionally. They also sometimes would sit us down and explain their disagreements to us so we’d understand they were a team.

I have a question concerning Passover. What if a family can't afford a second set of dishes or pots and pans and whatever else

Kids need to see affection so they know what should be part of a family. Also know that arguments are normal not swearing hitting but disagreements

Hi Miriam! I have a question! I’m a teacher in Williamsburg, which is in a huge Hasidic Jewish community. Can you explain the difference between Hasidic and orthodox? Just genuinely curious ❤️
