I think the reason people love it the most is not about the message itself, it’s about how the writer portrayed it. Yes, Rich Dad Poor Dad might rely on a premise that has existed for centuries but not many people helped convince the world that premise is solid. What the book offers is a premium version of that premise and it deserves all the hype. Majority of writers write about wealth otherwise but none will ever be in a better position to portray it like the way it is portrayed in Rich Dad Poor Dad. For that, the hype is absolutely worth it.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel or try to come up with something new on personal finance. If the book was written in this current generation I would agree with you but it was written decades ago before personal finance became so popular. The book deserves the hype because Robert Kiyosaki brought in a different perspective. I wish I had read the book in my teenage years.
