@josbokhoven: how i’m paid when traveling as a full time nanny ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1. i’m paid my hourly and overtime rates (for anything over 40 hours). this imo is the most fair way to be paid for the hours i work 2. i’m paid for ALL HOURS i’m expected to be available. flights, pool time, dinner etc. i’m paid my normal rates for all hours my nanny toddler is awake (or napping) even if we’re all hanging out together! 3. i’m paid an “inconvenience fee” per night we’re away. this just covers the fact that we’re away from home, away from my husband, and in a new routine. this is a flat rate. 4. my nanny family covers ALL travel expenses! flights, travel, food, and lodging! i rarely spend my own money. 5. if they would chose to travel without me, i would still get paid for 40 hours (guaranteed hours). forever grateful for my nanny family 💗 let me know if you have any questions!! #nanny #nannylife #nannytips #pay #travelnanny

Would you charge an inconvenience fee if your boyfriend tags along for the trip? My NF and I are going to Philly and they said my boyfriend could tag along. Im not sure if I should charge the fee or skip out since he’s joining us

Don’t forget a nanny is a luxury service. Just like a traveling makeup artist, there’s a travel fee

I feel bad the kids to the fact their own parents can’t even take a trip without putting the responsibility on someone else. If you can’t take care of your kids don’t have them

How did you start this conversation with your nanny family? It all seems very reasonable but it makes me nervous to bring up for some reason

I'm a full time nanny too and this is also how I get paid on trips with families. I also request my own room and bathroom.

I nanny in the evenings typically 3:45-7:30 but sometimes the mom starts working later so I come in later or the dad gets home later and I stay later I always get a good heads up so it’s no worries but I need guaranteed pay each week and when the hours change to shorter times it makes it hard. How do you suggest bringing up a week flat rate rather then hourly pay? Or is there something different that would be better?
