Appalachia, Ozarks, Rockies, Sierra Nevadas, Cascades. There isn't a range in North America that doesn't have something otherworldly in them. The northern Nevadan high desert takes the cake for me though

Both pronunciations are correct, btw. People in the more southern parts call it Apple-atcha and people in the northern parts call it Apple-ay-sha.

I've grown up in The Ozarks my entire life (45 mins East of Springfield). I've been in the woods my entire life and I'm confused as to why people are saying it's terrifying here!?.. Caves yes scary but the woods are the most peaceful and beautiful..

fun fact... the appalachia mountain range is millions of years old... the Ozark Mountain range is BBBBillions of years old. Google it.

I grew up in the ozark mountains my family and my town have the same rules that Appalachia have. Several times while growing up I heard something that could mimic my mother’s voice coming from the woods. My mother was either inside or not home.
