@spmufflers: This went viral on reels so TikTok do your thing Custom valved exhaust set up built by one of our customers, giving the best of both worlds. Quiet mode for regular cruising, “track” mode for when he wants it louder. Valve placed after the first small muffler to refine the note on “track mode” #exhaust #exhaustsound #exhaustcontrol #muffler #viral
Ppl in the comments not realizing how modern performance cars already use valved exhaust setups from the factory. Almost entirely for noise control

Being installed after the muffler defeats the purpose of cut outs

The caption isn’t accurate. In my opinion open would be before the muffler for best TRACK performance.

So if we look closely at this exhaust system, it is connected up to the heads. It comes down for a two into one and goes directly to this muffler, and all this flap does is while it’s closed, be restrictive and cause a crap ton of unnecessary back pressure and then when it opens up, it allows the natural flow of the exhaust to happen. There is no performance gain, but when closed absolutely it is hurting it as a matter of fact, actually there could be performance gain as a normal exhaust, but this flat being right here is useless in this particular exhaust design because it’s restricting the motor unnaturally like I don’t know any race cars that have this.

People not seeing the rest of the exhaust going above this valve and saying “this does nothing” genuinely need to make an appointment with the optometrist.

So you’re only changing it from coming out the back to coming out under. I thought The Who purpose was to run it before the muffler so you can have open type headers and then close for the muffler.

im curious, whats the purpose of this, im tryna learn more about like, automotive mechanics and stuff, and so im confused, is this to make it louder? its placed after the muffler, so id assume not, so whats the purpose?

Neat however if you really want to eliminate the muffler and all the piping you should have a electronic cutout at the very front on the down pipes or where exhaust comes down from the motor.
