Yes!! I think he learned a lot from writing Heroes of Olympus and took that feedback to make sure he wrote better representation going forward. He cares so much about his readers and it shows. ❤️

Like he is obviously not a perfect person, because no one is, but he takes EVERY piece of criticism and genuinely reflects on it and wants to change. To me, that’s truly what makes him an amazing artist, because if you’re not willing to grow you’re not willing to be better.

I absolutely love Rick, not just because of his writing (which I love by the way, OMG I love the Percy Jackson universe🖤) but his willingness to respond to criticism and the way that he adapt to his characters and tries to make them as authentic and human as possible🖤

I have Adhd and multiple chronic illnesses and i am using a wheelchair and the books mean so much to me, because everyone is inclidet and when I spotted the Girl in the wheelchair in the series ig was such a big thing for me i dunno why but it felt like i could be in that story to.

These books were the first time I felt seen. It’s the only time I saw characters who acted and thought like me characters who experienced the world I did. I will forever be grateful to him for this and his commitment to get better at representation.
