I paid mine early and cancelled it and there was no penalties, and there was no notice. Once the bond is fully paid up, they can’t debit or charge interest on a R0.00 principal balance as I was told, so cancelling was so easy, all you gonna pay is the amount for the attorney to transfer the bond, This is my experience, you may have a different experience.

Okay, hypothetically let’s assume it’s a 20 yrs bond for 2M (investment property) and it’s fully paid off in 5 yrs then I give the bank full notices on time, are there penalties or it’s just attorney fees again to cancel the bond

I extra on bond each month but did not notice any difference but instead when I resigned and ask bank grace till I receive my money they said I have alot of money that they can pay towards the bond and it was alot of money.

There's no penalty for early settlement, only attorney fee for your deed document 📃😔 Early settlement saves you a lot on interest charges 🙂
