The fact that rocket league is the only game that never actually changed, its just the players that keep evolving, creating new mechanics. The only comp game with 0 rng involved (the only rng was where you would spawn after being demo’d but they made it so you could tell) rocket league is quite literally the only game that doesnt change at all. Fortnite adds new guns, new pois, new meta every couple months. Siege adds new operators. Valorant adds new agents and maps. League of legends adds new champions, map tweaks, new objectives, mechanically changing all the time. And all the other games like overwatch, marvel rivals, cod, fifa and whatever always add new stuff and balance change all the time to satisfy the player base. Rocket league hasnt changed at all for more than 10 years (other than boost spawn indicator and knowing where u would spawn after a demo-which are both so minor anyways) and yet it still has one of the most loyal fanbases in gaming. No other game will ever come close to both its longevity and uniqueness. So yea, thats what makes it so great.
