My 9 year old doesn’t have a phone. Last year her friend gave her a phone on the bus and she brought it home and I took it because we don’t do phone and it got a Snapchat notification. The things I found on this phone were disgusting. Grown men were snapping this phone and it was disgusting. The signed in accounts were gross. It was bad. I had to explain to her why she couldn’t go to this girls house and all the things and it was one of the hardest talks I have had with her. The second hardest is death. Our groomsmen were in a car accident on the way to our wedding and one of them passed from injuries a year later. And my dad died two weeks before that out of no where. Those were rough too.

My 11 year old daughters best friend (who lives a few houses away from us) her dad had the police show up last year late at night, yelling through a megaphone due to he was making 💀 remarks and had locked himself inside their house. Due to the comments about 🔫 and his mental state, we had to have a really rough conversation about the future of our daughter playing at the kids house. But with that we also really wanted to do our best to support the 3 young kids in her friends household to ensure they didn’t feel penalized, safe, and supported. You’re right, It was hard for us to think what was safest and easy to understand for everyone involved
