Agree with all this but also, my son has THRIVED in middle school! He loves 6th grade, has raved about the freedom, the new friends, the fast pace of the school day which makes it feel faster. Straight As, all honors classes. It’s not all doom and gloom out there. For the nervous mamas in the comments, some kids really come out of their shell and enjoy middle school🫶🏻

I just told my daughter to enjoy every last recess for the rest of the school year. Cause it’s the last time she’ll ever have it. Omg now I’m crying!!!!! 😭

I’m terrified for my daughter to start middle school next year 🥹 she still pays with dolls and watches boss baby. I’m scared she will change. My son did when he started 6th grade he met the most horrible kids 😩

My son has thrived in middle school!!! I was so worried about the transition, but he’s doing great. Making friends, getting good grades. He’s also done some dumb stuff and made mistakes but that’s part of growing up.

6th grade was actually really great for my kiddo. My daughter had a little mean girl incident recently but overall she came out more confident and with more friends wearing too much mascara. I call it a win. lol

TRULY! I'm about to have my 5th and final kiddo promote to middle school next year. IT CHANGES THEM. Not necessarily in a bad way! But they're growing up and it'll happen QUICKLY in middle school. Soak up the kid stuff NOW, let them be LITTLE if they want! Keep the connection NOW because they'll turn to their peers for most stuff going forward and you want to keep that communication line open ✨
