Dante’s “goofy attitude” is only a persona he puts on to hide his severe depression and nihilistic outlook on life. I’m fine with the anime trying to depict a more childish and laidback Dante for season 1, to exemplify his inexperience I guess?? But for season 2, I really wished they’d make him take things a lot more serious, especially upon hearing about his brother being alive, stuff like that should genuinely bother him.
