I grew up diving that island. They were not there and have only come back in the last 15 years. Casino point has a few of those monsters lurking around the kelp forrest.

A guy caught one of those Black Sea bass many years that was the size of a Volkswagen Beetle on a charter boat and was not allowed to land it on the boat because of endangered species and we didn’t even have camera phones back then 😊
