I’m gonna explain it using a metaphor so it’s simple to understand. I think when it comes to religion, god is someone behind a one way mirror that he can see through and watch and listen to us from the other side. I think of it as even if I’m facing hardships god is watching behind that glass rooting and hoping I conquer what I’m going through. Either if it’s physical or mental. God is there to always support me spiritually. And when it comes to praying people always misunderstand it as to ask for something even though when you pray it’s more as if you’re talking to god at a more personal level either reflecting on the issue or venting about it. It’s a way to calm down and organize thoughts. What I believe the end goal of a prayer is to help you shape into the person you’re meant to become. Trauma is caused by the free will of others. Not god. So it’s a little silly to hear people blame God for the actions of others. God doesn’t decide our actions. We do. That’s free will. Meaning the actions of others that caused you pain or your own are done by the cause of free will.

I'm sorry for the pain you went through, but please understand, He did hear you. He really did try to help you. Through friends you had, through family that cared, perhaps even through strangers on the internet granting solace through their words. I hope that if you haven't gotten what you prayed for, you'll get it very, very soon. I pray to God that He makes the people who care about you but are too scared to reach out to be brave. Most of all, I pray that you find the love and peace you truly deserve.

i used to pray every night because i was told god will always have an answer, but things kept getting worse and when i asked for advice from adults in my life, all i got “was god gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.” i was a child begging for help, i realized i was the only one who could help myself

I’ve prayed for good things and prayed when I needed him the most but things just got worse. And I felt weird praying. Felt weird walking into a church. For me praying doesn’t bring me calmness it just makes me uncomfortable.
