frame generation is good if it dosent impact latency so much and its being implemented well. There are only few games ive seen frame grn being implemented well thats doom the dark ages and MH wilds thats it every other game i played without it because its not worth it. If your latency is really bad having 120+fps for example is pointless.

but FG 120 does feel much smoother than native 60. and if I'm not mistaken it does technically "add" frames (still not really sure how TF it actually works though) but I don't really care either way. as long as I can play all my games on 1440p on ultra settings and still get 60+ fps then I'm happy and FG is just a nice bonus for me

It confuses people that they’re called fake frames because they are real in the sense that they can be viewed by the user and are inserted in the frame buffer being fed to your monitor. They’re not made by the game engine and are prone to weird artifacts and motion error while adding input latency but casual users are probably more sensitive to the difference between 35 fps and 60 fps than they are to the extra 10-30ms input delay which is relatively small on setups where 30-40 fps is common

are the frames fake? I mean, they aren't rendered in game, so they are fake, but they do feel like real frames. I use lossless scaling, and the difference between 30 fps and framegen X2 resulting 60 is much smoother, so it can help now the latency is real. why? cause, in order to generate extra frames, you need the other frames to be able to analyse those. so, you get a process after generating those initial frames, which adds latency, not just cause you lowered the base fps.

Nvidia has literally never stated that FG is a performance enhancer. AMD is marketing FG the exact same way as Nvidia

I am ngl playing ow or cs2 with less than 5ms latency on native feels exactly the same as when I enable x4 frame gen on pragmaga or re9 and end up 200+ fps on 1440p and end up with 38-43ms latency. Is it deceptive marketing sure? Does it actually matter for 99% of users? absolutely fucking not

And? Fake or not, is it smooth? If yes, then why you care? For the latency? I am using 4x frame gen in warzone and the latency is not that bad.
