I was diagnosed around the same time as you at 21. The only reason they took my symptoms seriously was because my sister had just been diagnosed and they said it's common for sisters to have it. I also had my gallbladder removed and you're the 4th with PCOS that I've heard of having theirs removed. I've wondered if there's a link but doctors always say no

I knew I had this when I was 17 too, now I am almost 40 and only have been diagnosed and been able to receive treatment when I immigrated to Germany 5 months ago... Canada really is a delight.

Yes the only real treatment they gave you was to lose weight. I did everything to lose weight. I was given metformin when I was trying to get pregnant. Even my OBGyn was judgemental acting like I caused it by being bigger. I personally love the name change. It is definitely more comprehensive than PCOS. Now the medical community needs to catch up.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 in 1996 by an endocrinologist. Even then other Dr’s kept telling me I was too young to have PCOS and ER doctors kept saying they didn’t believe my diagnosis. I was just overweight and other symptoms were all in my head. Every medication they tried would land me in the hospital for a week or more after take 1-2 pills.
