6.2 Duramax really are a great motor. I’ve got 530k on mine and use it every day. Proper maintenance is key.

I think Dave is absolutely right on this one. A small caterpillar engine in my shop with a piston burnt all the way down the side look like that valve, but the injector is what I normally would say would cause that but no, it wasn’t. It was a cracked head, allowing an oxygen to get into the chamber and cause that to happen.

Logic is the answer from David i'have noticed you will also find that the cylinders are owalised when this Comes to burned valves seat mostly on Italian engine's one example the A112 scorpion engine i wish to make a very small engine with the same engine scorpion 850 cc but two engine's Bloc together same as a normal Us V8 but with the Italian engine's one Bloc my dream twice 850 cc 28nca from 1989 seat Marbella rouge one engine but V8 same like the cylinder 1.600 cc with Weber carburetors from the same engine's that would be awesome small V8 power 1600 cc 28nca I'd like to hear your voice on this dream take care may peace be upon you and your family ma salama malik zahid

Just love how you trade. Shows the general public that the days of the “grease monkey” are well in truly over. You need to be all over it these days. Well done

Why don’t the valves burn out in air-cooled engines then?

My Honda 3.5 did the same thing. looked like plasma cutter notched it out. I wondered if the cylinder deactivation caused carbon build up.

When GM was good. If the rest of the vehicle is in good shape, an engine would be worth it
