especially because piercings and tattoos are so EXPENSIVE. when i see someone who is heavily pierced or tattooed my first thought is how expensive it must have been to achieve all of them, and then im jealous because i want more lol

Its literally a sign of commitment, responsibility, and good planning. Not only do you have to budget, but you also have to wait months if not over a year for the pericing to heal, keeping it clean to be able to downsize it.

I hate when people call piercings unprofessional or unhygienic bc do you not realize the cleaning/work you have to put into healing a piercing?? (Ik for some people it’s easy to heal stuff but still)

What I don’t get is that people are so ok with tattoos but not piercings. I have tattoos and my mum doesn’t care. But when I mentioned that I want to get a nose piercing, she doesn’t like the idea and says I shouldn’t! Like, I can remove the piercing if I don’t want it like with regular earrings but I can’t remove my tattoos nearly as easily. I just don’t get it.

i started my current job with only lobe piercings and have slowly worked my way up to two half sleeves, two nose rings and ears full of piercings. they can't get rid of me im part of the furniture at this point but sometimes i read the employee handbook and laugh

Same thing with hair… just got a job at a restaurant (I’ll be working in the kitchen, mind you, never to be seen by guests) and I had to dye my hair a natural color… they let me keep the underside dyed in a peekaboo style but it’s just a lame standard anyway. My hair will be in a bun and in a hat most of the time so idk why it matters so much

LITERALLY! I strive in customer service and the amount of times i’ve gotten terrible looks and then when i show them kindness they turn around and go “ oh i didn’t expect you to be so kind! “ like yeah.. bc my appearance doesn’t define my attitude?
