@shimmycocopuffs: It’s been 2 weeks since Gogi passed, and I already know I’ll never stop missing him. Nothing really prepares you for this experience. Over the last couple weeks, I’ve realized how many people quietly carry this same kind of grief. Millions of pet owners go through this every year, but you never truly understand it until it happens to you. Some people try to fill that emptiness immediately by getting another pet. Others can’t even imagine going through this pain again. Everyone handles it differently. But one thing I’ve learned is that grief is just love with nowhere to go. As painful as this has been, I’d still choose every moment with him again. That’s the price of loving a dog.
