Most people don’t realize that every modern motor burns more oil than you would think due to manufacturers trying to meet emission standards. Most company say you will burn about 1qt every 2-3k miles. These light weight oils burn quick then cause damage like you are seeing

a person i live with had a 2017 soul that went through oil like crazy. it blew up before 100k miles and the oil was changed every 4k with like 2-3 quarts added in between.

i get an oil change every 6 months regardless of the mileage bc i fear i cannot let this happen to my car 😭😭 (i drive a 2020 chevy equinox & she has been good to me so far)

Its not even just those cars its the motor they have the gdis or notorious for that and that is why they need a timing kit so often bc of how low they get

I got a 2011 forester and mine burns about 1 quart every 1k miles I check it multiple times a month to make sure it doesn't burn too much.

Had a 2019 elantra that I unfortunately didnt check in 2 months between oils changes. Went from what 4.5 quarts to exactly how this was, 1 quart. Insane burn out of no where!

As a person who drives a Subaru, checking oil on your vehicle every 1000K is something people should be doing. I keep a quart in my backseat at all times. Stupid lightweight oil.
