The best relationships come from shared experiences. College, a friend group, living in the same place for a long time, etc. The number of shared experience opportunities that we have is going down, and the quality of the ones we DO get are being watered down by constantly being stuck in our own bubbles, be it on our phones or just lost in thought.

I think it’s true in some cases but like most ppl fail to realize that it’s as simple as going up to someone and saying what’s up. Stop making everything so complicated and just live life and sure you’ll get rejected but everything good in life comes with trade offs.

I've deleted my instagram. I've stopped going on dating apps passed the age of 24 (26 now). Even real life encounters feel so evanescent. People don't have enough gas for everyone. So instead of constantly feeling stranded and craving attachements, i just exited that nonsense where i'll never find any kind of satisfaction. Stay strong out there.

Might be a hot take but capitalism has created people with the “grass is greener” mindset and treats seeking "better" as a commodity instead of appreciating what you currently have, sure the “grass is greener” applies to whether someone is compatible with you, but it has led people to lose actual good connections that can be worked through, because there’s something “better” instead of watering your own grass

it’s impossible to have friends unless it’s someone you work with or someone you’ve known for a long time. and even then they can come and go at a moment’s notice because everyone is so involved and so sensitive to change, in a world where change is so constant. i can rarely go anywhere or do anything unless it’s cheap and accessible, which almost nothing is, and that’s where you meet people. OUTSIDE!
