@sean.chandler: Acura MDX Type S The 2026 Acura MDX Type S at $77,800 is currently the most premium available for sale. The MDX Type S is a sporty midsize 3-row family SUV that prioritizes the driving experience versus the more rugged off-road approach of most vehicles in this segment. At this price point, the MDX Type S leads the segment when it comes to its driving dynamics that would require buyers to spend significantly more with German brands to experience. The adaptive air suspension is exceptional. It can vary the ride height from 6.7 inches to more than 9 inches while offering varying modes of comfort and sportiness. The powertrain at 355 hp though could use a boost, as that’s less than a grand Highlander Hybrid MAX that could be had for far less money. Sportiness aside, the MDX does struggle to be competitive in this segment that has evolved tremendously over the past 2-3 years. It lacks ventilated rear seats which are standard on cars like the 2026 Palisade Hybrid. It also lacks third row AC vents and interior space is tight even in the second row. One bonus of its age though is the abundance of physical controls and buttons. There are many and they all have a high-quality tactile feel which can be appreciated in an era where large touchscreens are designed to control as many features as possible. The 2026 MDX is a carry over from the refreshed 2025 model year but does add the new Double Apex Blue paint option.
