The punishment for our sin is death, that’s why Jesus took that punishment for us by dying on the cross so we don’t have to. God doesn’t punish anyone for anything, he saved us from ourselves and our sin. God allows bad things to happen because we have free and therefore it’s necessary, but he never lets anyone go through anything they cannot hand WITH HIM. He can use all things for good so if you’re going through bad things don’t say “God why are you letting bad things happen to me”. Say “God be my strength my foundation and my shield, turn these things for your good and your will”. Don’t let your perspective be narrowed by emotions.
