@goldenhorizonseniorcare: Hospice is for any patient with a six-month or less prognosis. It includes pain management, emotional support, and a care team that comes to your parent. Palliative care is broader. It's symptom and quality-of-life management at any stage of serious illness. The biggest mistake families make is waiting until the last two weeks to engage either one. By then you've missed months of comfort your parent could have had. Comment CARE for my 10 facility tour tips. Link in bio. Easier way I explain it is do you want to still seek treatments for your terminal illness (pallative) or are your goals more focused on a comfort approach to care and no longer wanting to see specialists for your terminal illness (hospice if they qualify)
