I’m in Mass and chose to move here because trust me, you think it’s bad here? Whew. BUT still, why is the rent so high? I’m getting divorced and am the breadwinner but I’m trying to move out and everyone wants THREE MONTHS RENT upfront. Like, excuse me? That’s more than my whole months income

It’s INSANE - I do private home care and make great money but I am living pay check to pay check working 80 hours a week but making a salary that 5 years ago I thought if I can make that money I’ll be set and I have a crazy low mortgage for the times - it’s the only way I’m surviving and I think to myself daily HOW is everyone else doing it because I’m barely doing it

I’m a single mom in Mass. I’m still on an iPhone 8. 😅 I drive an 08 Ram that hasn’t passed inspection in 5yrs cuz of the rot/rust that I have noooo spare money to fix! I own nothing designer. I rarely eat out. I make my own coffees at home. And for 2 winters now, I had to keep my heat between 58°-63° to keep my bill low. I eat a lot of oatmeal, yogurt and peanut butter so my growing teen son can better rounded meals. My truck broke down 4 times between Oct-Dec and thank goodness I work from home, but It spend a total of 5 days in the garage for repairs yet it sat in the driveway for much longer cuz I had to low pay some bills to put money aside. Even sold my second hand sectional couch for $150 cuz it was a really bad time for truck repairs and Xmas. 🫠
