I actually leave mine overnight. Never had a problem with smells in oven either. I turn oven off several minutes before I put it in and close the door. Thanks for the reminder.

I've often heard this but im afraid if I have any sugars or milk in it, it's going to erupt. does it not over heat? I hate when I cut it and you can see the start of gel phase in the middle but it never makes it to the outside

A pot with water put the essence of the soap and pass it, when it is already saponified and the steam helps to erase the soda.
