Trans man who has been in both and … sorry women have consistently been worse 😭😭😭idk who’s lied to yall and told yall you’re better and idk if I’ve just lucked out but the ONLY time a male bathroom was worse was Halloween night at a club. Other than that I can recall physically recoiling / seeing a disgusting stall at least once in every woman’s bathroom I’ve been in and it’s been less common with men 🤷♂️

I dont think we're not as messy. I DO however think the difference is you said you had to 'scrub to clean up' the mess you made- and sometimes less of them just won't clean up after themselves. Similar mess making- less similar accountability, clean up, and respect for shared spaces with others lol.

As a former janitor, I'll say the messes in men's rooms are worse in terms of severity, but women's restrooms are more consistently dirty. So men's restrooms take longer to clean, but women's restrooms have to be cleaned more frequently. At least from my experiences

I've been in both bathrooms. boys bathroom is ALWAYS way grosser and 70% of the guys that piss don't wash their hands while I've basically never seen someone in the women's bathroom not wash their hands

i will say that as someone who used to be a janitor both could be equally dirty on some days but i did usually have to clean harder in the womens rooms. that being said, i also noticed that the paper towel in the mens rooms would disappear a LOT slower than in the womens... so i know whose washing their hands more for sure 💀

I think what made me realize men are generally dirtier in bathroom spaces is that I’ve told my husband that a gas station women’s bathroom was bad before, with the description of “the floors were sticky, it smelled bad in there, and the sink had gum and a paper towel sitting in it” and he responded with “that’s bad for you..?” He looked genuinely shocked and when I asked “yeah, why?” He said that men’s bathrooms have pubes all over the place, it’s rare to -not- have sticky floors, almost all of them are going to stink 24/7, and gum or a water-soaked paper towel would be at the better end of things to be seen in a men’s bathroom. By the time he was done telling me that I was just sat there looking like “☹️”.

I can't speak on women's bathrooms and their cleanliness as I haven’t been inside one since I was a little kid, but the urinal in my workplace literally has a spot on the floor where the pattern on the floor is worn away from years of piss

My uneducated theory on why women’s bathrooms are assumed to be cleaner is that, in the house (aka by far the most common experience with gender neutral bathrooms) cleaning the bathroom is more commonly a woman’s job, and so they’re more mindful of not leaving messes, whereas the men are less commonly the ones cleaning the bathroom and thus aren’t as diligent in their cleaning. So women see men’s messes, men don’t see as many messes from women, and the takeaway is that this is a gendered thing. But when none of the people using the bathroom are the ones cleaning it up, many people regardless of gender will just brush it off as ‘someone else will clean it’

As someone who part of their job involved checking the public restrooms… it’s honestly 50/50. Both have had the rare “hose down the stall and mop w/ soapy water” but while the grossest of women’s restrooms is usually understandable; the grossest of the men’s tends to be “dump in the urinal bc of pathetic bowel control”

Trust me, I lived in a house full of males my entire childhood and shared a bathroom with all of them at one point. It was like every single time I went into the bathroom, there was piss on the seat or on the floor around the toilet, or they didn't flush after they took a shit, and I know damn well they didn't wash their hands bc the sink was BONE DRY after they walked out of that damn bathroom. A period happens for like 5 days every month—males piss everywhere but the bowl every day and don't clean it up. And that's the bigger problem, that they don't clean up after themselves. My brothers would literally try to gaslight me into believing it wasn't piss I was seeing on the toilet seat because they were too fcking lazy to just wipe it up. I am so thankful everyday that I am a dyke and that I will never have to deal with sharing a bathroom with a male in my house ever again.

There's piss on the seats of both bathrooms. Penis-havers can't aim, and vulva-havers won't quit hovering to avoid "dirty seats" despite hovering being THE REASON THERE'S PISS ON THE SEAT (and also terrible for your pelvic floor), and apparently nobody feels like they're responsible for cleaning up their own piss. Everybody needs to sit ass-cheek to seat and the piss-on-the-seat issue will be solved.

men's bathrooms at Gass stations are a special type of horror sometimes. yes women's are sometimes gross or weird stiff is in the femminin product trash. but it dose not compare to the pee eroded cement below the urinals and it constantly looking like a bear shaved in the bathroom.

I went over to an apartment that has three female roommates living together, and when I lift the seat to take a piss if I saw a ring of blood on the underside of the toilet seat and the first thought was that my pen15 touches that sometimes….. i’ve also had the experience of having to clean public restrooms, and the female ones are more often dirtier than the male bathrooms because a lot of them hover when they use the toilet
