Dati, I’ve been a DDS ever since from the start. But as of now, I no longer side with any political group—neither with Leni nor Duterte. At this point, I just hope that whoever wins in the next election will truly lead with integrity, serve the people genuinely, and become someone our country can be proud of.

To give you more context, Bato’s salary is ranging from 300k-342k a month. He was on leave of absence for 6 months. He earned 1.8 Million-2 Million while he was absent. The minimum wage in the Philippines is 692 php (NCR rate). It will take 9 years and 2 months for a minimum wage earner to earn 2 million. LET THAT SINK IN.

The fact that my future now depends on the 2028 election. If I see hope, I stay and work as an attorney in my beloved home. But if not, I'll take another path and work abroad.

I hope the next leaders of the Philippines will choose honesty over power, listen to the voices of the people, and work for a future where every Filipino can live with dignity, peace, and hope. The Philippines deserves leaders who serve with heart, not with selfish intentions.

if Sarah duterte truly had bad intentions for the Philippines, why would she risk going against the administration and opposition when she could’ve just stayed quiet, played safe, and benefited like others? Instead, she chose to speak up against corruption even within the administration she once belonged to. That takes courage, accountability, and integrity.
One thing she said in an interview really stayed with me: her life is no longer just for herself or her family, but for serving the greater good and the Filipino people with honesty. I’m not DDS, and I didn’t even vote for her. She’s not perfect, neither was her father, but I can honestly say the Philippines felt better during PRRD’s time, and I believe Inday could do the same or even better, if she wins in 2028.

Every night I pray to God for the leadership we are craving. I almost cried thinking about my future, not just for me but also for my fellow students who are frustrated with the state of our country. Because nowadays, personal conflicts are even affecting the education system. Our systems are broken, arguments are everywhere, and we r stuck in a constant crisis. We’re tired of trying to understand what political perspective people actually hold. For now, I don’t expect any of the institutions to function anymore. We Filipinos just want peace of mind. Peace of mind starts when we choose genuine politicians whose promises are transparent and who put the people’s interests above their own.

Can we go back to the time when Ramon Magsaysay was leading the country? I’m not saying this because I personally experienced his leadership, but because of the stories, values, and kind of service people remember him for. A leader who truly listens to the people, lives simply, and puts the nation first is something many Filipinos still hope for today.
