I know it’s a little late at night, but this is a Hail Mary for Twilight. He’s one of the most urgent dogs at Carson, and honestly, we just don’t see how he’s going to make it out without the help of this community. If you’re still scrolling right now. please share, boost, comment…anything to help get his story out there. Twilight is 8 years old. He was surrendered to the shelter and he is absolutely devastated. He barely wants to move. He’s likely lived outside most of his life, his skin is raw with bald spots, and he came in covered in fleas to the point where he was bleeding. He’s also painfully skinny. He was adopted for three days and then returned after a reported incident with another dog in the home. Because of that he’s now “rescue only” meaning only a reputable rescue and foster can help save his life. But the dog the previous owners described when they dumped him after 72 hours is not the Twilight we know. Dogs coming straight out of the shelter are in survival mode. They are terrified, overwhelmed, and completely shut down. When you don’t give them time to decompress and adjust to a new environment, you are literally setting them up for failure and that is exactly what happened here. The Twilight we know sits so patiently at the front of his kennel. He watches everyone walk by with the softest, saddest eyes. He’s gentle and sweet. He kisses volunteets and loves affection. It’s heartbreaking that we’re not even allowed to take him out anymore because of the bad notes from the people who surrendered him. He’s not a bad dog. He’s a broken, confused, gentle soul who doesn’t understand why his life keeps falling apart. He’s previously lived with small and big dogs, we truly believe if he was given the chance to decompress and was slowly and properly introduced to the other pet in the home, twilight would have done amazing with the other dog. Now the shelter has made him no other dogs required. if Twilight dies in this shelter, it will be a tragedy because we won’t be losing him due to who he is as a dog… we’ll be losing him because of someone else’s lack of patience, understanding, and compassion. Twilight does not deserve to die in a kennel. Please if you can foster, if you’re a rescue, or if you can just share this to reach someone who can help him …this sweet boy needs a miracle tonight Carson Animal Shelter, Gardena CA Twilight A5745600
